In drama class we watched two very unique documentaries.
They both had messages behind them.
First we watched a documentary called "Bully". Bully was an expository documentary about young adolescents in high school and middle school who were being bullied. The tone of the video if very touching and depressing, it makes you think about what really goes on around America in schools. Kids are being bullied and not many people do anything about it. Kids commit suicide due to the bullying that they have gone through. The erector uses a lot of close up shots to make the audience understand the pain the character is going through, it makes the video feel more personal.
The second documentary was called "Supersize me". which is a mockumentary /expository documentary. Its about a man who takes a one month challenge to eat nothing but McDonalds every day for a month. The camera showed us personal challenges he went through such as gaining weight, vomiting, and going to doctors for testing. Even though this documentary had humor to it, but it also taught us a lesson, that McDonalds is not good for human beings to eat every day.
We also saw that he was overweight, loss of sex drive, and exhausted. it was very personal which made it funny but yet serious.
McDonalds now have nutrition labels and took away supersize foods.
